I have noticed that many people like knitwear with holes and eyelets. Eyelet stitch patterns are mostly quite simple. They can be combined in various ways and many fibers "like" eyelets.
I have knitted garments and accessories with eyelets for myself and my friends, yarn manufacturers and magazines. You can make an all over "holey" scarf or a cardi or a sweater. Here are some pics. The navy-blue cardi is from Lithuanian linen, the brown one is from mohair and lightweight wool held together. The purple shawl is hand-dyed pure wool. The scarves are from different mohair blends. The coloured scarf is from variegated Estonian yarn.
